Wood industry
Dispersion adhesives
In the woodworking industry, PVAC dispersion adhesives are mainly used, divided according to water resistance into classes D1 to D4. Polyurethane aqueous dispersions are used in the cladding (3D) of furniture doors, with heat reactivation of the adhesive. In the case of cold cladding of wooden profiles, EVA-based dispersions are used.
Polyurethane liquid adhesives
Polyurethane adhesives (prepolymers) are used in the wood industry, especially for bonding more difficult to bond materials where high water resistance and heat resistance of the bonded joint is required. Depending on the type of materials used, one-component or two-component products are used for bonding.
Polyurethane hot melt adhesives
Reactive hot melt polyurethane adhesives are used for bonding the surface layers of wooden floors. The bonded joint achieves high resistance to moisture and water, as well as high heat resistance.
Hot melt adhesives
Fusible adhesives are used to edge wood materials with paper, veneer or ABS edge. The application is carried out on mechanical edging machines that have the possibility of melting the adhesive to the application temperature. EVA, APAO and PUR based hot melt adhesives are used to sheath the profiles. The choice of the appropriate adhesive depends on the substrate material used for the cladding, as well as the water and heat resistance requirements of the product.
Resins
UF resins are used in the veneering of furniture parts, taking advantage of their properties such as the hardness of the glued joint and the ability of the glue to stain after curing. The product in question is a thermoset, which means that the increased temperature does not cause reactivation and softening of the bonded film with the possibility of its weakening.
Contact adhesives
Contact adhesives are solvent-based products with very good adhesion to a variety of difficult to bond surfaces. When joining these materials, it is not necessary to create long-term pressure, but only a one-time pressure. They are applied to both sides of the materials to be bonded, with the adhesive spray needing to be vented to evaporate the solvent. Contact adhesives are also used to edge wood materials with paper, veneer or ABS edge if a bending line is not an option. The adhesive is sprayed onto both bonded surfaces, then the adhesive is allowed to vent and after venting the bonded surfaces are joined using pressure.
Solvent adhesives
Solvent adhesives are fast curing products with very good adhesion to upholstery materials, creating a very strong and durable bond. They are applied to both sides of the bonded materials.
