This year we also attended a great event from the Tatras to the Danube. From August 19th to August 20th, we ran across all Slovakia with the length of the route being 345 km. Our A. R. M. A. D. A. team consisted of 12 runners and one driver. We started from Jasná in the Low Tatras on Saturday afternoon, running nonstop day and night and on Sunday afternoon we reached the finish line on the Danube riverbank in Bratislava. We were ranked 123 out of 200 teams. We took home not only a lot of experience but also a good feeling from the common goal we achieved as one team.
Painful joints, hunger, thirst and fatigue were not an exception even this year; they were a part of our experience, but worth it.
However, this event was not just about running on the previously set routes and being first at the finish line, but mainly about strengthening our relationships and positive energy, sometimes replaced by some difficult moments during the relay run.
We are looking forward to 2018, definitely participating in the next race.
- This event was attended by 2,380 runners, which made it historically the largest relay race in Slovakia!
- 200 teams ran about 69,000 km, representing a distance of 1.7 times the equator around the globe.
At the finish line over 800 kg of pasta was eaten, 4,000 litres of bottled water dispensed and mobile snack bars sold approximately 900 coffees.
